The provincial finals are commencing in the second week of October and the national finals are scheduled for October 26 in Bindura.

In 2023, the Jikinya Dance Festival will spotlight the enchanting Mhande Dance as its centerpiece.
Under the overarching theme of “Building Zimbabwe through Dance,” this year’s competition seeks to bring forth the rich traditions of the Karanga people, who primarily inhabit the Midlands and Masvingo provinces of Zimbabwe.

Mhande Dance is a profound indigenous song-and-dance ritual intrinsic to the Karanga community.
This dance, performed during the Mutoro and Kurova ceremonies, transcends mere entertainment.

This spectacular event is meticulously organized by the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) and the National Association of Primary Heads (NAPH), with the generous support of Delta Beverages Zimbabwe.
