ManLuckerz urges artistes to preach peace
Swedish based traditional musician and cultural author Makandire Chezhira Chikutu a.k.a ManLuckerz has urged players in the arts sector to preach peace ahead of Zimbabwe’s harmonized elections to be held in August.
ManLuckerz who prides himself as an ambassador of African culture said artists of all genres should use their influence to preach unity, peace and harmony.
“Artists be they musicians, writers, sculptors, cartoonists and dancers have a great reach that can influence change,” he said.
“I urge fellow artist to use their voices and influence to spread peace, love and unity ahead of elections.
“Let’s encourage the masses to exercise their right to vote in a peaceful environment”.
ManLuckeez said electoral violence sheds the country in bad light.
“Our cultural industry thrives on tourism and international tours thus violence will negatively affect not only Zimbabwe but also the arts sector.”
“In peace a society can thrive to unimaginable heights”.
ManLuckerz is a celebrated musician who has dedicated his life to preserve local culture and tradition while sharing it in different parts of the world through festivals, workshops and live performances.
With elections looming, many sections have been calling for all participating political parties to refrain from violence.
