Silent Killer Misses Durban Show
Zimdancehall star Silent Killer is facing backlash after failing to appear at a highly promoted show at Cool Runnings in Durban over the weekend, prompting threats of legal action from organisers.
Fans left disappointed
Hundreds of fans turned up expecting to see the high‑energy performer deliver his trademark hits, but the headline act never arrived.
Organisers confirmed his absence shortly before his set, leaving the crowd stunned and frustrated.
The event was billed as one of the biggest Zimdancehall nights in Durban this season, with Silent Killer’s name heavily featured on the promotional material.
Promoter issues warning
Stige Movement, led by promoter Nyabutho Prestige “Stige” Dlamini, said all logistics had been arranged, including flights from Zimbabwe, hotel bookings and a 50% advance payment.
“His failure to show up is unacceptable and disrespectful to both the team and the fans,” Dlamini said.
The promoter has demanded a public apology from the musician and warned that if Silent Killer does not issue one, legal proceedings for breach of contract will follow.
Previous incidents resurface
This is not the first time the artist, whose real name is Jimmy Mudereri, has come under fire for missing scheduled performances.
Earlier this year, he was reportedly facing a US$122,000 lawsuit after failing to board a flight to a UK festival where he had been booked to perform.
In 2022, promoters in Cape Town also complained publicly when Silent Killer pulled out of a scheduled gig at the last minute, citing travel complications.
The repeated absences have raised questions among fans and promoters about the singer’s reliability.
Other artists step in
Despite the setback, the night at Cool Runnings was salvaged by strong performances from supporting acts Qounfuzed and Junior Spragga, who were praised for their energy and professionalism.
Stige Movement later issued a statement thanking the backup performers and apologising to ticket‑holders.
“We will not tolerate disregard for commitment, and we will continue to uphold the values of veracity, responsibility and excellence in our events,” the team said.
Silent Killer yet to respond
At the time of writing, Silent Killer had not publicly addressed his absence from the Durban show.
Promoters say they remain open to dialogue but insist that accountability is non‑negotiable.
