The Sunday Service Winter Solstice Edition Brings Amanda Black to Harare

The Sunday Service is set to return to Harare this weekend with a star-studded line-up led by South African Afro-soul sensation Amanda Black.

After a successful debut earlier this year, luxury lifestyle event The Sunday Service is set to return to Harare this weekend with a star-studded line-up led by South African Afro-soul sensation Amanda Black.

The event’s second edition, themed Winter Solstice, will take place on Sunday, 7 June 2026, at The Art Farm in Harare, promising a carefully curated blend of music, fashion and outdoor culture.

Organisers say the gathering is designed for people seeking more than a traditional concert experience, positioning itself as a lifestyle destination where music, aesthetics and community intersect.

The announcement comes after the inaugural edition attracted significant attention despite being affected by rain showers that disrupted parts of the programme.

Nevertheless, attendees praised the event’s atmosphere, premium setup and unique approach to entertainment, helping establish The Sunday Service as one of Zimbabwe’s elite lifestyle brands.

Amanda Black leads a multi-generational line-up

Headlining The Sunday Service Winter Solstice edition is Amanda Black, one of Southern Africa's most celebrated contemporary artists.

Headlining the Winter Solstice edition is Amanda Black, one of Southern Africa’s most celebrated contemporary artists.

Known for hits such as “Amazulu”, “Kahle” and “Separate”, the South African singer-songwriter has built a reputation for powerful live performances and emotionally resonant music that blends Afro-soul, contemporary African sounds and storytelling.

Joining her on the line-up is Zimbabwean music veteran Tanga Wekwa Sando, whose timeless township jazz-inspired sound has earned him a loyal following across generations.

The event will also feature acclaimed guitarist Sylent Nqo, vocalist Tina Watyoka, as well as DJs Andile and the Royal DJs, who are expected to provide the soundtrack throughout the day.

According to organisers, the line-up was intentionally selected to create an atmosphere centred around soulful, nostalgic and uplifting music.

“The Sunday Service is more than an event; it’s a curated lifestyle ritual,” the organising team said.

“With the Winter Solstice edition, we are leaning into rich, cosy, premium aesthetics and music that hits deep in the soul. Bringing together legends like Tanga Wekwa Sando and contemporary giants like Amanda Black at a gorgeous venue like The Art Farm creates a completely unique canvas for Harare’s elite to connect, dress up, and celebrate life.”

The rise of lifestyle events in Zimbabwe

The Sunday Service arrives at a time when Zimbabwe's entertainment sector is witnessing growing demand for premium lifestyle experiences.

The Sunday Service arrives at a time when Zimbabwe’s entertainment sector is witnessing growing demand for premium lifestyle experiences.

Over the past few years, urban audiences have increasingly embraced boutique events that combine music, fashion, food, wellness and networking opportunities.

Rather than focusing solely on headline performances, organisers are creating immersive experiences designed around ambience and community.

This trend has contributed to the popularity of events hosted in outdoor venues such as The Art Farm, where attendees can enjoy live performances in a relaxed environment away from traditional concert settings.

The Sunday Service has emerged as part of this movement, attracting professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs and lifestyle enthusiasts seeking a more curated social experience.

A family-friendly winter experience

Unlike many music-focused events, organisers say The Sunday Service is designed to accommodate a broader audience, including families.

Activities will begin from midday, featuring picnic experiences and sip-and-paint sessions before the main musical performances.

The Winter Solstice theme aims to transform the winter season into a celebration of warmth, connection and creativity, with guests encouraged to enjoy outdoor experiences while taking in live entertainment.

Fashion takes centre stage

The Sunday Service is all about fashion

Fashion will once again play a major role in shaping the event’s identity.

This edition’s dress code, “All Shades of Chocolate,” encourages attendees to embrace earth tones, luxury picnic aesthetics and winter-inspired elegance.

Organisers say the concept is intended to complement both the natural surroundings of The Art Farm and the soulful nature of the musical programme.

The combination of fashion, photography-friendly spaces and carefully designed social areas has become one of the defining characteristics of The Sunday Service brand.

Building on a strong foundation

The Sunday Service appears determined to carve out a distinctive niche

With a successful debut already behind it and a headline performance from Amanda Black now on the cards, expectations are high for the Winter Solstice edition.

As Zimbabwe’s events industry continues to evolve, The Sunday Service appears determined to carve out a distinctive niche by combining premium entertainment, fashion culture and outdoor experiences.

If the enthusiasm surrounding its first edition is any indication, the Winter Solstice gathering could further cement its reputation as one of Harare’s most anticipated lifestyle events of the year.
