Last year, during Zimbabwe’s first lockdown, ZTN partnered with Prophet Passion Java and gave us the Gara Mumba Iwe virtual live concerts which featured top artistes from various genres.
While the initiative was brilliant and gave music fans a platform to see their favourite artistes performing live on stage at a time when gigs had been banned, it was short-lived and the program got chopped after a few runs.
I was so disappointed that the concerts were discontinued because the production was on point, but then we cannot ignore the fact that it inspired many other event organisers to create their own productions in similar fashion.
The good news is that Gara Mumba Iwe is coming back with ZTN posting several video clips announcing the first concert which is on tonight starting at 7:00PM.
While the organisers have been evasive with the line-up, some of the artistes who have confirmed being part of the program include Abisha Palmer, Merciless Zimbabwe and ExQ.
We will just have to patiently wait and see which surprise artistes they have in store for us.
One thing that I know is that I will be tuned in to ZTN platforms, either Facebook or YouTube from 7:00PM to 9:00PM.
