South African Airways to Increase Flights on Harare Route

South African Airways (SAA) has announced plans to increase its weekly flights between Johannesburg and Harare, expanding from 10 to 12 flights starting on 5 November.

This move comes in response to rising demand for air travel between the two cities.

With the updated schedule, South African Airways will offer two additional flights from Harare to Johannesburg.

Flight SA25 will depart Harare at 07:20 AM, arriving in Johannesburg at 09:00 AM, Monday to Friday.

Another flight, SA23, will depart Harare at 12:25 PM and land in Johannesburg at 14:05 PM daily.

On the return leg, flight SA24 will leave Johannesburg at 10:00 AM every day, arriving in Harare at 11:35 AM.

Additionally, a second flight will depart Johannesburg at 20:10 PM and arrive in Harare at 21:45 PM from Sunday to Thursday.

SAA has maintained a strong presence on the Johannesburg-Harare route for more than two decades, serving both business and leisure travelers.

Julia Rewayi, SAA’s Country Manager, highlighted the importance of this expansion, stating, “Increasing our flight frequency on the Johannesburg-Harare route is a testament to our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers.”

The airline’s decision aligns with its broader strategy to strengthen operations across Africa, a key growth area for South African Airways.

Rewayi noted that the growing demand stems from several factors, including increased travel among Zimbabwean expatriates, a boost in tourism and expanding trade relations between South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The airline is optimistic that, as political stability improves in Zimbabwe, both travel and trade will continue to grow.

SAA’s commitment to providing reliable and convenient travel options is at the core of this decision, reflecting the airline’s efforts to meet the dynamic needs of travelers in the region.
