Korea Festival 2024: Celebrating 30 Years of Diplomatic Relations Through Culture
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea will tomorrow host the Korea Festival 2024 at the Celebration Centre in Harare.
This event aims to celebrate and promote cultural exchange between South Korea and Zimbabwe. It is also one of many events in line with the main theme of the year, celebrating 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The festival brings Korean culture to Zimbabwe, offering an immersive experience that spans from cosmetics to food, and culminating in a world-class performance by the renowned Korea National Taekwondo Demonstration Team, Kukkiwon.
A Celebration of Korean Culture


The event will open with booths featuring products and services that are synonymous with South Korea’s growing cultural influence across the globe.
Attendees will get a chance to explore and purchase K-beauty products, indulge in K-food, and browse through displays of technology from top Korean companies such as Kia, Hyundai and LG.
The booths will offer an engaging blend of commerce and culture, allowing Zimbabweans to connect with Korean heritage through these tangible exports.
For families and individuals alike, the festival is a free, inclusive affair.
Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team


The highlight of the festival will undoubtedly be the performance by the Korea National Taekwondo Demonstration Team, commonly known as the Kukkiwon Demonstration Team.
Making their debut appearance in Zimbabwe, the team is internationally celebrated for their extraordinary displays of martial arts.
Founded in 1974, the Kukkiwon Demonstration Team has performed in over 120 countries, gracing stages from America’s Got Talent to the Nuclear Security Summit in 2012.
The team’s performances go beyond martial arts. They integrate storytelling with precise choreography, using basic Taekwondo movements to convey authentic Korean stories to a global audience.
As cultural ambassadors, the team’s mandate extends beyond showcasing athletic skills to promoting a deeper understanding of Korean heritage.
Korea Festival 2024 Event Details
The Korea Festival 2024 kicks off at 3:00 PM with the opening of the cultural booths, offering a unique shopping experience and a window into Korean craftsmanship and innovation.
At 4:30 PM, the booths will close as attendees are ushered into the auditorium for the Kukkiwon Team’s one-of-a-kind performance.
