Has Ishan fallen off already?
The music industry is one jungle where you can easily get lost and disappear if you don’t get a solid grip on your bearings.
There are many artistes who had great potential, gave us one or two hits and just fell off after some time.
I can’t just help but wonder if Ishan is also among those one-hit wonders because he hasn’t been making much noise of late.
For someone who basically owned 2019 with his breakout hit, I would have expected him to still be causing chaos in the industry today.
Kure was basically the biggest song last year and to my surprise, Ishan seemed content with that success and failed to immediately make follow up tunes while the lights were still on him.
Ishan is very talented, we cannot take that away from him, but talent alone is not enough to guarantee one’s success in showbiz. You just need to put in the extra effort and capitalize on every opportunity that comes your way.
The success of Kure presented an opportunity that most artistes can only dream of but it seems like this young man just let it slip by.
When that song was killing it, we didn’t see much activity on pushing new music from the artiste. While he released a few tracks afterwards, they were not marketed in any way and went unnoticed.
The next significant move he made was doing a remix for Kure but in terms of giving us new vibes, he wasn’t doing much.
This year he dropped numerous songs and featured on many other projects that are really great, but I am not seeing any signs of replicating the magic that he came with when he burst on the scene.
With the Kure buzz having simply faded, Ishan really needs another banger if he is to stay relevant in this cutthroat industry, otherwise his career might just suffer a premature death.
Personally, I am still routing for him and believe he can still give us a few more hits, hopefully sooner rather than later.
Just last week, he released a video for his new song Maidei (Peanut Butter) and while it is a really good song, it has failed to generate any significant traction.
Despite being out for several days, the video is yet to reach the 10 000 view mark on YouTube which is a bit ridiculous at a time when other artistes are passing that number within an hour of release.
There is positive feedback in the comment section with many people showering it with praises, some even sharing the sentiment that the artiste is being slept on.
With an adequate campaign, this song could have done well but the lackadaisical approach from this camp has not done it any favors.
Had I not reached out to one of his associates in connection with something else, I would not even have known that Ishan released a new song.
Whoever is doing his marketing and publicity really needs to up their game and make sure that this talent does not just vanish despite creating a good catalog.
Like I said earlier, talent can only get you so far. You can make great music but without visibility, you might as well be producing those tunes for your family and friends.
There are many musicians who are not even that gifted but still manage to reach great heights because they put in the work to make sure that their projects get to the listeners.
Maybe Ishan just needs a good team behind him, people that really understand how the music industry works.
