Baba Harare Gospel Album Launch Set For August
Renowned Zimbabwean musician Baba Harare, known for his vibrant Jiti music, has made a notable shift with the release of his first gospel album titled “Repentance” which dropped on July 22 on various platforms.
Despite having already released the project, the official album launch is set for August 4 at the 7 Arts Theatre in Harare.
The musician has also been dropping music videos with songs like “Sukai”, “Makanaka”, “Dombo Rekare” and “Ndoteura” already doing well on YouTube.
This new body of work marks a significant departure from his previous music and showcases his newfound spiritual direction.
Baba Harare’s transition to gospel music is accompanied by a personal transformation, including a change in his physical appearance and dress code, signifying his new path.
In a statement released via his Instagram handle, Baba Harare said he was grateful for the way his new music was being appreciated by his fans.
“I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the warm reception that Repentance, my latest album, has received. Your incredible support and love have touched my heart in ways I can’t even put into words,” said Baba Harare.
“It is because of you that I am able to pursue my passion for music and share my art with the world.
“In this fast-paced and often chaotic world, your unwavering support and encouragement have been a constant source of inspiration for me. Your kind words, messages, and gestures of love have reminded me why I create music – to connect with souls, to evoke emotions, and to bring people together.
“As I reflect on this incredible journey, I am reminded of the beautiful words from Numbers 6:24: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you.”
“I hope that my music has brought you solace, inspiration, and joy. Your presence in my life as a fan means more to me than words can express. I am humbled by the opportunity to touch your lives through my art, and I promise to continue pouring my heart and soul into every note and lyric.
