Miss Universe Zimbabwe online registration opens
Online registrations for the Miss Universe Zimbabwe pageant have began and they are set to close in April.
Aspiring models are encouraged to register for auditions beginning on March 30 in Mutare and Masvingo, with additional cities to follow suit.
National pageant director Tendai Hunda highlighted the early registration commencement is to facilitate timely hosting of the pageant before the global stage.

This allows the crowned national queen adequate preparation time.
Hunda stated, “The auditions are to be held from March 30 until April 13. We opened registration on New Year and it is open to every Zimbabwean girl whether abroad or local who so wish to be Miss Universe Zimbabwe.
“There are no age restrictions but as a board we are going to sit down as to how far can we go because Miss Universe generally is open. However, divorced women, married and unmarried women including those with children are welcome to take part.”
To manage financial constraints, auditions are limited to four cities—Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, and Masvingo.
The competition is open to girls of any race or color holding Zimbabwean citizenship.
Hunda emphasized non-discrimination based on race or height and cited last year’s winner, Brooke Bruk, as an example.
“The current queen Brooke Bruk is a citizen of Zimbabwe and her parents and grandparents are Zimbabweans. There was no controversy last year because she is white and it wasn’t fair what some were saying on social media on Brooke because they didn’t consider or check more about her. Brooke did well and she deserved the crown, that controversy was null and void.”
This year, the focus is on selecting an ambassador for social change.
“We are looking for someone who can represent brand Zimbabwe as an ambassador.
Learning from the previous year, Hunda anticipates a bigger and better 2024 pageant.
The selection team, with global experience, aims for a more thorough process.
The crown will be awarded on May 18, aligning with the global show in September in Mexico.
The top 30 ambassadors of social change will be revealed on April 27, followed by voting for the best ambassador of social change video.
Bootcamp is set for May 11-18 at a undisclosed location.
