Chillspot takes over Olympus, Zeus this and every Sunday
Mbare-based music production house Chillspot Records is proving to be a formidable force in the local showbiz industry.
It has yet again clinched a lucrative deal for its artistes to perform at Club Zeus (formerly Club Connect).
The Sunday night weekly event is being launched this evening.
Celebrities, socialites, influencers, guest artistes and other clubbers are expected to be in attendance.
Speaking to The Sunday Mail Society, music producer DJ Fantan — real name Arnold Kamudyariwa — said the deal has been in the works for some time.
In club circles, Chillspot is popular for its “China Chemadzimai” concept at Mashwede.
“Our foray into the club circuit did not start with Mashwede; it started in Mbare, in Mabvuku and other high-density areas where we proved our creativity beyond doubt,” he said.
“Playing at Club Zeus is the realisation of a long-cherished dream to conquer Zimbabwe’s club scene, from downtown to uptown and everything in-between.
“Starting this Sunday (tonight), we will show all and sundry that we are all-rounders when it comes to entertainment. Those who have not seen us in action in such an environment must come prepared to be shocked because that is what we do.”
The Chillspot family’s turntables man, DJ Levels, said music lovers will get real entertainment value.
A spokesperson for the management team running Club Zeus and Olympus Lounge said: “This collaboration could not have come at a better time. The festive season is about to kick off and the superhuman vibe these entertainers bring will ensure that Sundays on this side of town are never the same again . . . The trio of Fantan, Ribhe and Levels is also beaming with enthusiasm. So, this is definitely a win for showbiz as a whole.”
Club Zeus, which rebranded from Club Connect in June this year, also houses Olympus Lounge.
The two-in-one club has played host to rising stars Saintfloew and Nutty O, as well as many other top names in Zimbabwe’s music industry. – Sunday Mail
