Mbeu Announces Fifth Album Release

Afro-fusion artist Mbeu, a protégé of the late Dr. Oliver Mtukudzi, is gearing up to unveil his fifth album on September 30.

The album launch will take place at Jongwe Corner in Hatfield, Harare.

Born Ashton Nyahora, the Afro-fusion sensation has confirmed that all necessary arrangements are now in place for the album launch, which will mark his fifth musical endeavor.

Album Title and Tracklist

The upcoming album, titled “Nhanzwa,” boasts eight tracks: “Chipo,” “Dzirikutungana,” “Dzakapfumbama,” “Mujolo,” “Famba Murume,” “Bvumavaranda,” “Svitsa Tsvene,” and “Kana Nzira.”

Mbeu’s manager, Faith Mashami, provided assurance that all preparations for the album launch are finalized. She stated, “Everything is now in place for our album launch.”

Birthday Coincidence

September 30 holds special significance for Mbeu as it is also his 31st birthday.

He deliberately chose this date for the album launch to coincide with his birthday celebrations.

Mbeu, the frontman of the Mhodzi Tribe band, sees himself as a torchbearer for the late national hero and renowned singer, Dr. Oliver Mtukudzi.

He aims to preserve Mtukudzi’s legacy by incorporating the musical wisdom imparted to him by the legendary artist during his lifetime.

Mbeu expressed, “In me, people will see the smaller version of the late national hero Dr. Oliver Mtukudzi. I want to use the notes he gave me when he was still alive so that his name cannot be forgotten in the arts industry.”

Album Production Details

Mbeu affirmed that the album is fully ready. He assembled a talented and professional band for the recording process.

Tammy Bimha of Naletha Media handled the mixing and mastering.

The band responsible for the album includes Mbeu on acoustic and lead vocals, Watson Chidzomba on drums, Panashe Muronda on lead guitar, Denzel Songo on bass, Revive Jorafani on keyboard, Farie Madungwe, and Bethel Mangana on backing vocals, Admire Mwashita on percussion, and Tinotenda Dhliwayo as the sound engineer.

Prominent music producer Clive “Mono” Mukundu, who was also a former member of Oliver Mtukudzi’s Black Spirits band, expressed optimism about Mbeu’s album.

He praised the young Afro-fusion artist’s talent and suggested that this album could be a turning point in his career.

Mukundu said, “I believe this new album is the turning point for Mbeu’s career. I have listened to some of his songs, and I believe that many of them will be hits.”

He further commended the substantial investment of money, skilled labor, and time into the album, as well as Mbeu’s versatility as an artist.

Album Launch and Tour

The album launch event will be open to the public with an admission fee of US$10, and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase the album.

Following the launch, Mbeu plans to embark on a nationwide and international tour to promote the album.
