Everton Mlalazi nominated for 2023 CLIMA Africa Awards
Everton Mlalazi has received two nominations at the prestigious 2023 CLIMA Africa Awards.
The renowned gospel singer is contending for Africa’s Best Male Gospel Artiste and Africa’s Best Male Artiste titles.
Mlalazi faces tough competition from other prominent gospel artists in the region, such as Dunsin Oyekan and Nathaniel Bassey from Nigeria, Joe Mettle from Ghana, Winnie Mashaba from South Africa, Janet Otineo from Kenya, and Mercy Chinwo, among others.
Expressing his gratitude and excitement about the nominations, Mlalazi took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the journey with CLIMA Africa Awards. He congratulated his fellow nominees, acknowledging the significance of such recognition in the gospel music genre.
“Congratulations to my fellow nominees Mercy Chinwo, Nathaniel, Moses, Winnie, and Janet. Onward and upward for the kingdom,” said he said.
The singer, popularly known for his song “Nomakunje,” expressed his surprise at the nominations and his readiness to represent Zimbabwe.
In addition to his nominations, Mlalazi revealed his upcoming project, a hymns album titled “Virtual Hymns with EM and Worship Therapy.”
The album comprises 12 hymns that hold personal significance in his life and aims to touch the lives of listeners.
The CLIMA Africa Awards, organized by CLIMA Positive Impact Magazine Ltd, is set to take place on October 2 at Lagos Television (LTV), Agidinmbi, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.
The prestigious event recognizes individuals who have made significant positive impacts in various fields.
The awards ceremony will feature 13 honorary categories, 19 nominations, four merit awards for gospel music impact makers, and Best Dressed Male and Female awards.
Voting for the nomination categories will be open from August 20 to September 20 through the official website of the organization, www.climaafrica.com.
Among the esteemed honorees for the 2023 edition are prominent personalities such as Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, Bishop Matthew H Kukah, Hope Uzodinma (Executive Governor of Imo State), Dr. Tony Rapu (Founder of House of Freedom, Lagos), and Dr. Siju Iluyomade (President of Arise Women Nigeria, Abuja).
The CLIMA Africa Awards serve as a platform to celebrate exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions to society.
It brings together influencers, thought leaders, and industry professionals in the gospel music community to honor excellence and showcase the positive impact made by individuals across Africa.
