2023 Vic Falls Carnival Tickets Already Running Out

This weekend, from Friday 28 April to Sunday 30 April, Victoria Falls will turn into a massive party as one of the biggest music festivals on the continent comes to town.

The 11th edition of the Vic Falls Carnival is shaping up to be the biggest ever hosted, if the massive lineup and ticket sales are anything to go by.

This year the event has not only been expanded in terms of the number of performing artists, but also in events and venues.

For the first time, the carnival is being held in both Zimbabwe and Zambia, with main stages at the Elephant Hills Resort and Radisson Blu Mosi-Oa-Tunya, Livingstone Resort.

Carnival ready to roar

In an exclusive interview with 263culture, Vic Falls Carnival festival director Craig Bright said they have been working hard to make sure they create the biggest event to date.

“In terms of preparations, everything is running smoothly and we are very excited to open the doors for the 11th edition of the Vic Falls Carnival,” said Bright.

“We are excited about this year’s edition and we are bringing a lot more sound, a lot more visuals and its going to be something no one has ever seen in Zimbabwe.”

The event is expected to attract huge numbers this year as the response has been overwhelming.

“There has been a huge hype, especially since last week and by booking Nigerian superstar CKay, we have taken the event to the next level.

“Everybody that’s coming is going to get something spectacular, not only from the lineup, but also from the production level.

“Our sound, staging and lighting is out of this world. We have lasers this year and we’ve got video projection as well.

“We are bringing things that people have never seen before, they are going to have one incredible experience.”

Biggest lineup to date

With more than 30 artists set to perform, it is clear that much effort has been put into making sure that music fans get value for their money.

“Our lineup is the biggest we have done so far and we cannot wait for the gates to open.

“We are always trying to make this event bigger and better. Last year we scaled it down because we were only allowed to have a certain amount of people but this year we are going big again and we want to make a big statement.

“There is no better way to do that than amplifying the lineup and just making sure everyone gets value for their money. If you divide it up over the 30 plus artists that are performing, including some big international acts, you are literally paying $3 per artist.”

There is so much exceptional talent on the lineup which features CKay, Jah Prayzah, Musa Keys, Mokoomba, Mafikizolo, Enzo Ishall, Toss, Mi Casa, Black Motion, Khoisan and Anita Jaxon to name just a few.

Full commitment from artists

Last year, some fans were disappointed when DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Sha Sha failed to show up for the event, despite having been paid in full.

This time fans are being assured that measures have been put in place to avoid such from happening again.

Those social media might have noticed that most of the major artists on the lineup have been posting videos on social media letting their fans know that they will be coming to the carnival.

Bright also highlighted that the artists they have roped in this time are fully committed and have agreed to all the terms on their contracts.

“We are 100% focused on making sure that everyone (all the artists) is there, everyone is comfortable, all the flights are booked and all the hotels are booked,” said Bright.

Vic Falls Carnival Tickets Running Out

The 2023 Vic Falls Carnival tickets went on sale with four tiers, a day pass (US$50), a two day pass (US$65), a three day pass (US$90) and a VIP three day pass (US$295).

These tickets are likely to run out as the two day passes have already sold out, with organisers highlighting that people have been scrambling for the options that are left.

It might be wiser to grab them in advance rather than wait to buy at the gate where there is a risk they might have sold out by the time you get there.

Affordable food and beverages

Every year, the carnival partners with various players to ensure that those attending the event keep their throats busy at reasonable prices.

They have also brought in some interesting partners, including Jägermeister, to ensure the booze keeps on flowing.

“We have always had very reasonable prices with our food and beverages which is way less that you are going to be getting at the hotel. We are way below market prices. Everyone coming in will be able to afford everything that is available for purchase.”

Organisers of the carnival always encourage those coming to the event to explore the destination and partake in the various activities that are available.

“The carnival is a destination festival, so please come and enjoy our event but at the same time go and see the big five, go and do your bungee jumping, if you are a water person get into the water and do your white water rafting,” said Bright.
