Comic Pastor Collins Mnangagwa pics sends social media abuzz

Prominent comedian Comic Pastor has sent social media buzzing after posting pictures with President Mnangagwa’s son, Collins.

The images which have been making rounds on social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook  have been met with mixed feelings.

While some are saying he has joined Zanu PF, the comedian has denied these claims, stating that people should stop politicizing artistes.

“I stand by my words Stop politicizing artists I know CCC FANS LOVE ME and I ALSO HAVE FOLLOWERS FROM ZANU PF,” said Comic Pastor on his Facebook page.

Many artistes have come under fire every time they interact with political figures or attend political functions.

Below are some of the comments posted on social media on the issue.

“Every once in a while I would watch comic pastor, but I just came here to announce his career is now finished. He joined Zanu PF everything they touch is destroyed.” – @shadre_muchuwa.

“A confused person can be seen attacking Comic Pastor for posing for a picture with President’s son. Comic Pastor remains the most influential comedian who uses satire or comedy to expose, attack and communicate with the GVT. Stop this monopoly over entertainers,” – @Tinashe_Maburu.

Comic Pastor with President @edmnangagwa’s son. All public figues are trooping to ZANU PF. ZANU PF is the home of all Zimbabweans #2023EDpfeee.” – @GondaiMutongi

“The fact that comic pastor has to try and give an explanation over a photograph shows you the level of intolerance and dictatorship tendencies in the local political environment.” – @marshallabra.

This cancel culture just needs to stop. These are artists. They get paid for their trade. Dendairy, killer T, Hot Plate, Comic Pastor, etc… ko ingawani anaHwende clear vehicles for prominent people. Why not “cancel” them? Inga ana Mahere and Biti represent people in court.” – @AfricanCon

“Dear Comic Pastor…The idea of freedom of association does unfortunately also come with scrutiny. Bill Gates was scrutinized for his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein or how Warner Bros and Disney cut ties with Johnny Depp over domestic violence allegations. I draw these examples to show that whilst we have a deeply divided nation, association has a weight it carries on a brand, locally and internationally. Wisdom is how to navigate this space.” – Malcolm Makamanzi
