Zim to host SITE Executive Summit 2023

Zimbabwe is gearing up to welcome twenty-five esteemed International Board Members of the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) for a summit.

Taking place from June 21st to 23rd, the event will be held against the stunning backdrop of Victoria Falls.

SITE, a professional association dedicated exclusively to the incentive travel sector, boasts a distinguished executive leadership team comprising C-Suite executives from leading businesses in the field.

These thought leaders and key decision-makers are at the forefront of driving growth in the USD$75 billion incentive travel industry across various source markets.

Zimbabwe’s selection as the host for the SITE Executive Summit presents a unique opportunity for the country to establish itself as an emerging and formidable destination for incentive travel.

This, in turn, caters to the ongoing quest of incentive planners in search of new, captivating locales that offer unparalleled and authentic experiences.

Incentive travel represents an extraordinary reward or prize for exceptional performance within a business environment, offering once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences.

Recent research indicates a projected 34% increase in incentive travel budgets for 2023, with a gradual return to mid- to long-haul destinations.

Ms. Winnie Muchanyuka, Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), expressed her enthusiasm for hosting the esteemed delegation.

She noted that the visitors would have the opportunity to sample exclusive incentive-ready properties in Zimbabwe and engage in thrilling activities in Victoria Falls, often referred to as the adventure capital.

“We are both honored and immensely excited to welcome the SITE executive team to our country,” stated Muchanyuka.

“We view them as ambassadors who will bolster our marketing endeavors in promoting the viability of incentive travel in Zimbabwe. We are confident that this is a perfect occasion for them to explore our MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) offerings, and we hope they will take the time to relish the splendors of Victoria Falls.”

She further added, “This initiative will expose key executives to Zimbabwe’s unique selling points and help attract a greater number of incentive travelers to our country, thereby contributing to the increased tourist arrivals we strive to achieve.”

SITE’s CEO, Annette Gregg, MBA, CMM, expressed her organization’s excitement about collaborating with Zimbabwe.

“SITE is committed to partnering with new and emerging destinations, aiding in the positioning and refinement of their offerings for discerning incentive travel qualifiers,” said Gregg. “With its remarkable natural landscapes, world heritage sites, and incentive-ready resorts, hotels, and lodges, Zimbabwe has an abundance to offer. SITE eagerly anticipates working alongside the local incentive travel community to deliver award-winning incentive travel programs in Southern Africa.”
