Zimbabwean musicians Young DLC and Bryan K are celebrating a significant international milestone after their collaborative song “Can You Feel It” was featured in the hit Netflix series The Polygamist.
The placement introduces the duo’s work to millions of viewers worldwide and adds to a growing list of Zimbabwean creatives whose music is finding audiences beyond the country’s borders.
Although the song was originally released in 2022, its appearance in one of Netflix’s trending productions has given it renewed attention and highlighted the increasing demand for African music in film and television.
A collaboration built on creative chemistry

The track was born during the production of Young DLC’s second production music album for KPM/Extreme Music, a UK-based production music company.
The project formed part of his publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing, which sees him create music specifically for licensing in film, television, advertising and other visual media.
Young DLC said working with Bryan K was an easy decision, having recently completed their collaborative EP “Care Package”.
“Bryan K and I had just completed a collaborative EP called Care Package, so we were already in a creative rhythm together,” he explained.
“As I was developing the album, I felt that some of the tracks would benefit from strong vocal performances, and Bryan was the perfect person to bring that vision to life. His availability, talent and understanding of the creative direction made the collaboration very natural.”
What is Can You Feel It about?
Unlike conventional commercial releases aimed at radio and streaming platforms, “Can You Feel It” was created as a production music track, designed to be licensed for use in visual productions.
Released as part of the KPM Amapiano production music album in 2022, the song focuses less on telling a traditional story and more on creating an emotional atmosphere.
Young DLC described it as an invitation for listeners to immerse themselves in the music.
“The song is centred around energy, emotion and atmosphere. Rather than telling a specific story, it invites listeners to connect with a feeling.”
He added that the song asks a simple question:
“Can you feel the energy, the vibe and the emotion being expressed through the music? It is about creating a mood and allowing the listener to experience the spirit of the moment.”
Because it forms part of a production music catalogue, the song is primarily available for licensing through Extreme Music rather than mainstream streaming platforms.
A Zimbabwean song on Netflix

For Young DLC, hearing one of his productions accompany scenes in The Polygamist represents another important step in a career that has increasingly focused on international sync licensing.
He said seeing music become part of visual storytelling remains one of the most rewarding aspects of his work.
“It is always an incredible feeling to hear my music featured on screen, and The Polygamist is no exception.”
“As a producer, there is something very rewarding about creating music and then seeing it become part of a larger story that connects with audiences around the world.”
While pleased with the latest placement, Young DLC noted that it forms part of a journey spanning several years.
His music has previously appeared in productions and platforms associated with Disney, BET, M-Net, SABC, Coke Studio Africa and The Voice, among others.
However, he believes Netflix’s global reach makes this placement especially meaningful.
“Knowing that a song created in Zimbabwe can find its way onto an international platform and be heard by audiences across different countries is both humbling and motivating.”
“It reminds me of the power of music to travel beyond borders and connect people through storytelling.”
Bryan K celebrates global recognition

Bryan K described the placement as a proud moment, not only personally but also for Zimbabwean music.
“It really hit different hearing something we worked on playing on The Polygamist on Netflix,” he said.
“Big love to my bro Young DLC. We worked on this one together, and seeing the music travel like this is a blessing. God is good all the time.”
For the singer, songwriter and producer, the feature demonstrates that Zimbabwean artists are increasingly earning opportunities on some of the world’s biggest entertainment platforms.
He believes the achievement reflects the growing international appeal of local talent and serves as encouragement for more creatives to pursue global opportunities.
Zimbabwe’s growing presence in global entertainment
The success of “Can You Feel It” reflects a broader trend of Zimbabwean musicians, producers and songwriters securing international sync placements as global demand for African sounds continues to grow.
Production music has become an increasingly important avenue for artists seeking international exposure, allowing songs to appear in films, television series, advertisements and digital productions viewed by audiences across multiple continents.
For Young DLC and Bryan K, the Netflix placement is more than another career achievement. It demonstrates how music created in Zimbabwe can become part of stories watched around the world, reinforcing the country’s growing influence within the global creative industry.
