What does Bryan K have in store for us on his new project?
In a few days’ time, Bryan K will be dropping his new album, BiBo Worldwide and just like many other music fans out there, I am curious to know what he has done with this one.
A week ago, he invited me for a listening session but I have not been able to go because of various other commitments. This means I will have to wait for the actual launch to taste the new music just like everybody else.
At least that wait is almost over with the 16-track album being launched on September 15.
I have been following Bryan K’s musical journey from the time he was a StarBrite contestant and what I cannot dispute is the fact that he is super talented.
While he has managed to give us some good vibes ever since he came on the scene a few years ago, some believe that he reached his zenith when he gave us “Heavy Machine”.
I am not with that school of thought. Bryan K still has more to offer and hopefully he manages to do that on BiBo Worldwide.

He has been releasing solid tunes which people have surprisingly been turning a blind eye on. The likes of Tungamirai, Iwe, Kwasa Kwasa and Guilty are good tunes that should have made noise on any day.
What does Bryan K have in store for us on his new project?
Back in May Bryan K released the video for Where Are You Now, a song that had somehow slipped my radar when it came out back in December last year. It’s a vibe and if there is a track or two on the new album with a similar sound, we are in for something special.
I had a brief chat with him just to have an idea of what to expect from the new album and while he did not preempt much, I have a better picture.
“The album is telling my story, the things I feel, see and hear. It’s an expression of Bryan K in his purest form.
“I settled for that name (BiBo Worldwide) because it is who I am, that’s the Bryan Kadengu from Chinhoyi who dreams of changing the world through music,” said Bryan K.
I would have wanted a few beats to dance to, but it seems like the artiste has gone for something on the mellow side of things.
“There a lot of African soul, it’s one of those albums where you can just sit, listen to the music and see my world.
“It has a lot of retro sounds. Sounds that I grew up listening to, that have made me the person I am today.”
There are five other artistes who also feature on the album with the artiste highlighting that he has been working on it for a long time.
“Some of the songs are from five years ago, so I’ve been working on it all my life. This is my best work yet.
“I was part of production for all the songs, like I said, I wanted to express Bryan K untampered with. I worked with different producers on some of the songs, some in the UK and others who are local. Level 8 in the UK did mixing and Audius Mtawarira mastered the project in Australia.”
All the music on the project is brand new with previously released singles not being included on the playlist. Most of songs will be accompanied by videos.
The way Bryan K has been describing this album, I hope he puts his money where his mouth is and actually delivers what he says he intends to.
