The Weeknd drops Starboy (Deluxe)
The Weeknd has dropped the highly anticipated “Starboy (Deluxe)” for his fans.
With the 10-year anniversary of his debut studio album, Kiss Land, approaching, the Canadian singer has been delivering a plethora of content, including Live At SoFi Stadium and an upcoming HBO television series.
Although he has not announced a new album, The Weeknd has been hinting at the release of “Starboy (Deluxe)” for months.
This deluxe edition includes three new tracks, including a remix of “Die For You” featuring Ariana Grande, as well as the Kygo-assisted remix of “Starboy” and the “Reminder (Remix)” featuring A$AP Rocky and Young Thug.
The Norwegian producer had previously released the Kygo-assisted remix independently before its official release.
The release of “Starboy (Deluxe)” follows The Weeknd’s triumphant night at the Juno Awards, where he won five out of six nominations.
He was named Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year, while his track “Sacrifice” won Single of the Year. Additionally, “Dawn FM” won Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year.
With this win, The Weeknd now holds the second-most Juno awards of all time, just one behind legendary singer-songwriter Anne Murray.
The Canadian music awards show also recognized other talented artists, including the TikTok Juno fan choice award winner, as well as breakthrough artist of the year, rap album/EP of the year, and contemporary R&B recording of the year.
Additionally, the event featured a tribute to hip-hop in Canada to celebrate its 50th anniversary, as well as the induction of Nickelback into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
