The Selekta Base BlowOut Festival which is being held on August 12 at Borrowdale Racecourse will present the perfect family outing on Heroes Day.
While there will be many other events taking place during the long weekend, the burnouts are set to be the main highlight.
From the powerful cars burning rubber to the live performances taking center stage, there is going to be unlimited entertainment on the day.
Those who have attended previous editions of the Selekta Base BlowOut Festival can confirm that this is one of the most exciting events that takes place in Zimbabwe.
Selekta Base BlowOut Festival Heroes Day Special
This one is set to be bigger as it will double as a special Heroes Day celebration, with the organisers seeing it befitting to honor those who died fighting for the country’s freedom.
On show will be some of the country’s top spinners who will be showcasing their skills along side their counterparts from South Africa.


To make things interesting, there is the Selekta Base BlowOut Festival Champion Spinning Trophy up for grabs.
Attendees are also going to be treated to performances from the likes Killer T, Bagga and Young Gemini, with top DJs including Jason Le Roux, Rax and Springer taking to the decks.
Being a family event, there are going to be entertainment zones for kids which will have jumping castles and various other interesting elements.
Foodies also have something to look forward to as there will be numerous food stalls at in the venue.
With just a few days to go, the event organisers are already in overdrive to ensure that everything is in place come Monday.
In an interview with 263Culture event coordinator Miss Kundai Mnangagwa said that the preparations were going well so far.


“There is a lot of work that goes into putting together these big events and the whole team has been pushing hard to make sure that we are ready for the big day,” said Mnangagwa.
“The preparations are going well and right now we are just putting the final touches and I can assure you that we are going to give people an incredible event.”
The event will be starting at 10am and shuts down at 6.30pm.
Tickets for the event will only be sold at the gate for $10 for adults while kids under 12 are getting in for free.
Cooler boxes will be attracting a corkage fee of $5.
