Premier League Greatest African XI on SuperSport
SuperSport’s Premier League channel on DStv is set to air a special feature dedicated to the best African players that have graced the Premier League in the past.
The program, which is called ‘PL GOATs African XI’, will air on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 8 PM.
The special will feature a 52-minute show where Thomas Mlambo, Leeds legend Lucas Radebe, and former Premier League star, John Barnes, will select their greatest African Premier League XI of all time.
This program is being presented in celebration of 30 years of the Premier League.
After the show’s broadcast, fans will have the opportunity to vote for the Premier League’s greatest African XI from a shortlist of 30 players.
Fans can find the shortlist on www.supersport.com/africaxi between March 7 and March 24.
From March 24 to May 25, fans can vote online for their best-ever African players, with no formation required, and the campaign will culminate in a gala awards dinner in Lagos, Nigeria.
On March 24th, fans can expect interviews, stories, and features about some of the African stars, past and present, who have played in the English Premier League.
These features will underline how African players have helped to define what is now regarded as one of, if not the, greatest sporting leagues in the world.
The interviews will cover everything from Radebe’s inspirational leadership on the field and his community work off it, to Didier Drogba’s power and desire which helped transform Chelsea into a powerhouse of the game, and Mohamed Salah’s wondrous scoring exploits for Liverpool.
