National Gallery of Zimbabwe reopens

The National Gallery of Zimbabwe which closed its doors to the public back in March because of the Covid-19 induced restrictions is reopening on November 5.

In a development that some might say is a breath of fresh air, the gallery makes its comeback with two exhibitions The Point of View by David Palacios and Aftershock: Re- imagining Life After Cyclone Idai.

While the Palacios exhibition never saw the light of day because of lockdown restrictions, the Idai showcase was launched online but now people have the opportunity to physically view both from the 5th to the 20th of November.

Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Kirsty Coventry will be the guest of honor on the special day.

This will also mark the beginning of a new enterprise under the leadership of the gallery’s new Executive Director Raphael Chikukwa.
