The Odyssey in Kadoma is set to be buzzing this Saturday with a diverse line-up of musicians take to the stage at the highly anticipated African Explosion concert.

The event, presented by Odyssey Entertainment, will feature a range of genres including rhumba, dancehall, and dendera music.

Headlining the event is celebrated Congolese singer Koffi Olomidé, known for his soukous and rhumba music, who will be making a return to Zimbabwe after last year’s collaboration with local urban groover Rockford “Roki” Josphat.

Olomidé is expected to arrive in the country tomorrow, two days before his performance in Kadoma.

Also performing at the concert is South African Afro-pop group Mafikizolo, who will be arriving in the country on Saturday morning.

Mafikizolo is no stranger to Zimbabwean audiences, having performed numerous times in the country, including a 2017 concert at The Odyssey.

At that show, they shared the stage with the late music legend Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi.

This time around, Mafikizolo will reunite with local artist Jah Prayzah, with whom they have collaborated in the past.

Other artists scheduled to perform include dancehall singer Enzo Ishall, songstress Tammy Moyo, and dendera ace Sulumani Chimbetu.

With such a diverse line-up, the concert promises to be a night to remember for music lovers.

Organiser Prince Mharadze has assured fans that everything is in place for a memorable show.

He stated that the desire of Odyssey Entertainment is to bring diversity to their patrons, and the African Explosion concert is just one way of fulfilling that mandate.

The concert will be held at The Odyssey, a popular showbiz venue located in the bustling gold mining town of Kadoma along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway.

Fans can purchase tickets at the venue or at Eat n Lick food outlets throughout the country.

Prices range from $30,000 for an ordinary ticket to $220,000 for VVIP.

The Odyssey has hosted numerous top South African acts, including DJ Tira and Makhadzi, as well as local artists such as Winky D, Killer T, and Alick Macheso.

With such a range of talent, the African Explosion concert is sure to be a night to remember.
