Jacaranda Music Business Conference Kicks Off

The Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Festival officially begins today, offering a series of free workshops, panel discussions, networking sessions and master classes.

The Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Conference, which will be held for the next two days at The Venue, is aimed at supporting both emerging and established artists, as well as music industry professionals.

The educational segment of the festival is designed to enhance skills and knowledge in Zimbabwe’s creative sector. It is set to provide valuable resources for those involved in the music business.

Organisers emphasised the importance of education and knowledge sharing in growing the local creative economy.

“We believe that education and the sharing of information and knowledge is critical if we are to see significant growth in the creative economy of Zimbabwe,” a spokesperson said.

This initiative is made possible by the support of Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe and underscores the bank’s commitment to fostering the growth of artists in all aspects of their careers.

“We are grateful to our partner, Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe, whose dedication to supporting the music business and its ecosystem is clear. They mean business when it comes to helping artists grow,” the organisers added.

This year’s programme features prominent speakers from various sectors of the music industry, including legal experts, sound and lighting specialists and representatives from regional music festivals.

While the conference is already fully subscribed, the festival encourages those interested to follow the proceedings online via their Facebook page, Jacaranda Music Festival.

The festival continues to be a key platform for musicians and industry professionals in Zimbabwe, with the workshops serving as a critical component in the development of the country’s music ecosystem.
