Hometown is turning up the heat this festive season, with the joint coming up with numerous interesting concepts that are proving to be popular.

If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy both good food and music in Harare, this will be an option worth considering.

This spot has had its ups and downs over the years, but it seems like it is now making a strong comeback if developments in recent weeks are anything to go by.

Hometown is the place to be this festive

Their Prime Thursdays, which target youthful audiences, have been attracting large numbers and this can be attributed to the popularity of the DJs who are basically heroes within that demographic. With the likes of Madeherbelieve, Zulu and Apollo on rotation, this is one party you should check out.

These guys always bring that positive energy to the dancefloor.

For mature crowds who prefer listening  to old school music, Hometown is now the place to be on Friday.

The Flashback Fridays sessions, which feature the legendary Dee Nice and multitalented veteran Tha Prof, are becoming more prominent with growing numbers to back that up.

I have attended a few of these sessions and what I can conform is that these DJs are cooking. While many DJs in the capital will repeat the same set over and over again every other week (Harare DJs do this a lot), these two have made it a point to make every set unique which gives their followers something to look forward to every time they play.

The only day that didn’t really have much going on was Saturday, but that is about to change as the management has introduced something that is set to unite both the young and the old.

Starting from tomorrow, Price Drop Saturdays will certainly be a welcome development as Hometown is set to be the cheapest spot to chill North of Samora.

While ciders are usually above the $3 price range at most establishments in this area, here you will get a bucket for just $11.

A liter of Hennessy plus a cranberry mix on top has also gone down to $50 while a liter of Jameson plus cranberry mix will be going for $30.

Besides the affordable drinks, the combination of Chucknosis and Tha Prof on the decks will ensure that those sips are accompanied by good music.

This duo does not come with ordinary sets so be sure to have your Shazam ready because they will certainly be dropping some exclusives and hidden gems.

As the festive mood is picking up the tempo, you should not waste any weekend so be sure to put Hometown on your party itinerary this December.
