Helen Teede is a Zimbabwean abstract painter based in Harare. She is a graduate of Michaelis School of Fine Art in Cape Town, South Africa.

Using the natural landscape as a point of departure, her work is an exploration of the ways in which the earth’s surface can act as a teller of stories and symptom of circumstance.

Teede is among the artistes who contributed to the exhibition Mirror Mirror!, which is currently on show at the First Floor Gallery in Harare.

We feature the artiste in today’s edition of Creative Voices as she talks about her painting, Ecosystems, which she started working on in Venice as part of her master’s thesis and only completed when she came back home recently.

“This work as well as all of my work in general is focused on our relationship with the environment.”
