Goodluck x Kav Verhouzer drops Rum & Cola
2020 has been one gloomy year with sorrow and despair taking center stage, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic.

While the entertainment industry has been one of the hardest hit sectors, creatives have continued to soldier on and are doing a brilliant job in keeping us entertained during this lockdown period.
Top South African electronic band, GoodLuck has decided to give us something to smile about and forget about the prevailing darkness.
Their new song Rum & Cola, which features Dutch superstar Kav Verhouzer, is a feel-good tune that would have had the dancefloors filling up had it not been for the pandemic.
This track is summer ready and will make you want to grab your cooler-box and heard to the beach. Too bad that is next to impossible right now.
GoodLuck are once again showing the power of collaboration between Netherlands and South African based artists.
Rum & Cola is, just as the name suggests, a song about keeping it light and enjoying the simple things in life.
The deep house beat is uplifting and progressive with subtle touches of that old-school Chicago House piano sound that we all grew up loving. Marry that sound with a sultry pop vocal and catchy lyrics and what you get is a global hit knocking at the door.
Having premiered on Chill Your Mind with support from the biggest DSP’s on Spotify and Apple Music, there are big expectations for this song.
“I think we noticed that there was something special about this tune when we were performing it live on our Summer tours in South Africa,” said GoodLuck lead vocalist Jules Harding.
“We noticed the crowd would be singing along by the second chorus which is very unusual when you are performing a song live for the first time.”
The single’s artwork was created by one of South Africa’s most famous graphic illustration artists Merwe Marchand LeRoux and is a strikingly bright and fun image, echoing the same energy that you feel when you listen to the track.
“We just want to help everyone feel a little bit better,” said Kav Verhouzer.
“It’s tough out there at the moment, and we are hoping to bring a bit of light and happiness to people through this single.”
GoodLuck is a chart-topping and award-winning electronic pop band from Cape Town, South Africa. Their sound is defined by a modern electronic edge, with influences from electronica, jazz, house, drum and base and beyond.
The band’s first international release, Back In The Day (Armada Music), exploded on Spotify, while their breakout track, I’ve Been Thinking About You (Ultra Music) was the most played song across all Top 40 stations in South Africa in June 2016.
