A few months ago I wrote a story with the headline “Probeatz taking over the game…one song at a time”, where I spoke about his seamless transition from beatboxing to being one of the best rappers in the country.
I have said this before and I will say it again, Probeatz is a complete entertainer.
While he gave us some hard hitting jams last year, he has kicked off 2021 on an acting tip, staring on a comic series as a ghetto superhero, Captain Mfombi.
While we got a teaser of the character back in 2019, the series never took off but it seems like this year the creators are a bit serious.
The first episode which was released on January 20 received positive reviews from those who watched it, for good reason too.
It’s not only hilarious, but also unique in many ways. For starters, coming up with the concept of a Mufakose superhero definitely got my attention because right now I am curious to know what sort of antics he will be getting up to.
At the moment Captain Mfombi is using his newly acquired superpowers to recharge phones and cook mazondo for people in his neighborhood, for a price of cause.
While he is still a poverty stricken superhero, I am just wondering if he will not end up using his powers to enrich himself.
Despite being able to move at lightning speed, the character is still begging for donations to buy shoes. If I was him, I would just clean out my favorite shoe store and no one will even know I was there because I doubt cameras would be able to capture me in the act.
Hopefully they continue giving us more episodes because I think this will be a really good series.
