DJ Rimo Nominated for Shining Stars Africa Awards
DJ Rimo, real name Tinotenda Marimo, has been nominated in the the Best Star Club DJ category at the inaugural Shining Stars Africa Awards.
The awards ceremony is set to take place on September 2 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Shining Stars Africa Awards stands as an international platform dedicated to recognizing and applauding remarkable individuals and organizations across various sectors, spanning art, science, entrepreneurship, and more.
DJ Rimo’s claim to fame was significantly bolstered by his association with the late socialite sensation, Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure. Together, they curated a lifestyle of exuberance, hosting the famed all-white extravaganzas.
In a historic feat, he was the first Zimbabwean DJ to clinch victory at the Africa Social Entertainment Awards 2022.
Speaking about the honor, DJ Rimo conveyed his gratitude for the nomination, expressing his appreciation for the platform and congratulating fellow nominees. He extended heartfelt recognition to his loyal fans and supportive family.
“It is a privilege to even be considered among some great talent in this category,” said Rimo.
“I feel honoured to be acknowledged for the time and dedication I have put into my craft because being a DJ for me is not just a job or a way of life, for me, it is part of my DNA, and being recognised for doing something you love is amazing.”
Reflecting on his groundbreaking achievement at the Africa Social Entertainment Awards 2022, DJ Rimo expressed personal satisfaction.
“The fact that my career trajectory is on the rise and being seen as one of Zimbabwe’s top DJs is more than I could have dreamed.
“The grind is real. We cannot afford to ever be complacent because the bar needs to constantly be pushed.

DJ Rimo, who embarked on a musical venture earlier this year, boasts a roster of four hit singles currently on air.
