Courtney Jongwe Crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2025
Courtney Jongwe, 23, was crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2025, securing her spot to represent the nation at next year’s Miss World pageant.
The glitzy ceremony took place on Saturday evening in Borrowdale, Harare.
The Manicaland native walked away with a US$500 cash prize and a car, set to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
Miss World Zimbabwe director, Patience Lusengo, announced the runners-up as Yollanda Chimbarami and Life Matunzeni, explaining that the competition followed Miss World’s standard rule.


“There is no first or second runner-up. Yollanda and Life are the official runners-up for this year’s edition,” said Lusengo.
Miss World Zimbabwe – A Night of Glamour
The event, themed “Beauty with a Purpose,” showcased elegance and empowerment, with 11 contestants competing in a head-to-head challenge. Seven finalists advanced to the swimwear segment, narrowing down to five contestants before Courtney claimed the crown.
Speaking after her win, Jongwe expressed her gratitude and determination to amplify the African narrative on the global stage.
“This is a dream come true. It’s time to show the world that Zimbabwe is here,” she said. “I will use my story to champion the African narrative and make an impact on the global stage.”
Empowering Young Women
The night’s significance extended beyond the crown. Businesswoman Zodwa Mkandla, representing Miss Universe Zimbabwe board chairperson Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga, emphasized the role of pageants in empowering young women and fostering societal change.
“Tonight is not just about the crown but about building a future where Zimbabwean women are empowered and excel in nation-building,” said Mkandla.
Her sentiments were echoed by attendees, who applauded the event’s celebration of beauty, purpose, and resilience.
Entertainment and Special Guests
The star-studded event featured a stellar performance by musician Tammy Moyo, who captivated the audience with her hit Kelvidhura alongside energetic choreography.
South Africa-based TV personality Kim Jayde served as the host, adding charm and sophistication to the evening.
