South African superstar Costa Titch headlines Unplugged this Saturday with the likes of Leo Magozz and Holy Ten also taking to the stage.

The event will be held at Greendale Sports Club and promises to be an exciting affair.

Being one of the biggest outdoor events in the country, every edition is always special.

Costa Titch headlines Unplugged

For the greater part of the year, Costa Titch’s Big Flexa has been one of the biggest songs on the entertainment scene.

His recent banger Superstar which features Diamond Platnumz has already amassed close to three million views despite being two weeks old.

The artiste’s catalogue is laden with other solid tracks including Just Do It, Areyeng, Nkalakatha Remix, Monate C, Uthini and Durban Poison to name a few.

He is also well known for bringing out crazy dance moves when he is performing on stage.

In an interview with 263Culture event organiser, Ellinah Chipumha said fans should brace for an explosive performance from the headline act.

“Costa Titch is a young, super vibrant performer with an incredible stage presence and that’s what we are looking forward to.

“He’s known for his live delivery. A lot of music fans will be looking forward to seeing him perform his current hit song with Diamond Platnumz.”

Organisers seem to have gotten the right balance in putting together the supporting acts.

Their lineup caters for both ‘new school’ music fans as well as the mature fan base.

Current heavy hitters Leo Magozz and Holy Ten lead the line with the seasoned ExQ set to prove that he is still the boss when it comes to urban music.

To complete the cast, Adiona, King 98, TK Beatz and DJ Rimo will also be performing.

“We wanted to see some of the younger generation of chart-topping artists for the first time at Unplugged. This is why we brought in Holy 10, Leo Magozz and King 98 who have been doing great on the hip-hop scene,” said Chipumha.

“We always love to see the more seasoned greats on our stage, such as the angelic crooner Adiona and of course the legend Ex-Q who never misses.”

Unplugged, the ultimate outdoor experience

The event has been around for close to a decade and is regarded as the pioneer of picnic concerts in the capital.

While there are many other similar events taking place every other weekend, Unplugged remains one of the leading entertainment brands in the country.

“We were the first to do it and we are flattered by everyone that came after us. It means we did something worth emulating.

“It’s important to have a vibrant event scene. We need it to support developing artists and to ensure the outdoor culture remains lively.”

She added that they have managed to survive for so long because of their ability to adapt.

“We are also consistent in our delivery. Our audience knows they can trust the Unplugged experience, in terms of vibe, security and timeliness.

“You know Unplugged will be clean, organised and have that urbane vibe. These are the things that set us apart.”
