Ashanti and Nelly back together
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck might be sparking a trend.
Singer Ashanti and rapper Nelly are rekindling their romance, over two decades after they first paired up.
The duo, who first connected in 2003 and later split after a decade, have now officially rekindled their relationship.
Ashanti made an appearance at the MTV VMA Awards on Tuesday night, where Nelly was performing.
She carried a clutch featuring a photo of the two from their 2003 awards ceremony.
When interviewed by E! News, Ashanti simply found the bag “cute” and was asked if she and the “Hot in Here” star were back together. After some laughter, she replied with a casual “Yeah.”
Nelly also spilled the beans during a recent appearance on “Boss Moves with Rasheeda,” alongside “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” stars Rasheeda and Kirk Frost. Nelly said, “We’re cool again,” emphasizing that their reunion was unplanned and a surprise to both of them.
The Shade Room shared Nelly’s confirmation clip on Instagram, and Ashanti playfully joined in the comments, writing, “Heyyyyyy bighead 😍❤️😂 @nelly.”
Back in June Nelly and Ashanti attended their first red carpet together since 2012.
The rumored couple were seen together at the 3rd Annual Birthday Ball for Quality Control CEO Pierre “P” Thomas at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta.
