In a bid to fully embody the futuristic spirit of this year’s theme, #afrofuturism, the  ceremony has moved to a new, dynamic venue that promises to reflect the bold vision of the event.

In a press statement, NAMA Director Tinashe Kitchen announced that the search for a venue capable of showcasing the forward-thinking theme has been exhaustive, culminating in the selection of the Hippodrome.

Known for its ample space and versatility, the venue is expected to host an array of performances that span music, dance, theatre, film, television, and spoken word, underscoring NAMA’s commitment to celebrating every form of art.

The announced lineup includes popular acts such as Hwniza, Nisha Ts, Oriyano, Shashl, Atenda Chinx, Bagga, Sylent Nqo, Probeatz, and Misheck Mahendere among others.

The shift in venues marks a significant evolution in the awards’ history, aligning with the global trend of blending cultural heritage with modern, forward-thinking aesthetics.

The adoption of the #afrofuturism theme is a nod to contemporary artistic movements that merge traditional African influences with futuristic concepts, making this edition a landmark celebration for both artists and audiences alike.

As preparations continue, stakeholders and art enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating what promises to be a vibrant fusion of innovation, tradition, and creativity.
