Alyn Sano joins Vic Falls Carnival lineup

The Vic Falls Carnival has added Rwandan Afropop singer and songwriter, Alyn Sano to their lineup.

Organisers of the event are not slowing down when it comes to expanding the performing cast which is already packed with exceptional talent.

The Vic Falls Carnival will run from the 28th to the 30th of April in Victoria Falls with the main stage being at the Elephant Hills Resort while other events will be held at the Radisson Blu Mosi-Oa-Tunya, Livingstone Resort in Zambia.

Alyn Sano has been making waves in the music industry with her catchy pop tunes and relatable lyrics.

Her iconic voice has garnered her a loyal following, and her latest single, “Boo and Bae”, has captured the soul of her listeners with its inspiration from the complexities of relationships.

She discovered her passion for singing at the age of 15 when she joined a choir, where she honed her songwriting skills in the gospel genre.

As a university student, she performed jazz and blues with live bands at various venues in Kigali, including hotels, clubs, and weddings.

After graduating from the Akilah Institute for Women, Sano began recording original music, and her debut single, “Naremewe Wowe,” quickly gained popularity.

She has since released numerous hits, including “Kontorola,” “Radiyo,” “Fake Gee,” and “Say Less” featuring Sat-B from Burundi and Fik Fameika from Uganda.

Her debut album, ‘RUMURI,’ is highly anticipated and set to release later this year (2023).

Sano has performed at some of Rwanda’s biggest events, including ‘Kwita Izina,’ ‘Iwacu Music Festival,’ ‘Transform Africa Summit,’ and ‘Afro Basket.’

She even got to sing alongside the legendary Yvonne Chaka Chaka from South Africa at the ‘Legends Alive’ event.

In 2019, Sano participated in ‘The Voice Afrique,’ one of Africa’s biggest music competitions, and made it to the top 8.

Her outstanding work in the music industry has not gone unnoticed, and she has received numerous awards, including “Rwanda’s Best Female Artist” by the acclaimed show Isango Na Muzika in 2020, “Woman Of The Decade Award” by her former university in 2021, and “Best Artist of the Year” by the Rwanda Women Magazine.

In 2022, Sano won two more awards, “The Best Female Artist” from Kiss Summer Award and Karisimbi Events.

The Rwandan artist will be sharing the stage with the likes of CKay, Musa Keys, Oskido, Jah Prayzah, Mafikizolo, Toss, Enzo Ishall, Mi Casa and Black Moition to name a few.
