The Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Festival is back and it is set to be bigger and better than previous editions.

This prestigious event will be held from the 6th to the 8th of October 2023 in Harare.

The hype is already building up with organisers having recently released the first phase of artists who are set to perform.

Both international and local talent has been roped in with the likes of Ami Faku, Judith Sephuma, Alexio Kawara, Sylent Nqo, Norman Masamba, Intotal Band, Chiweddar and more taking to the stage.

These are all seasoned entertainers who are no strangers to major festivals.

In an interview with 263Culture Jacaranda Music Festival Director Walter Wanyanya said fans should brace for an epic fete as he highlighted the pedigree of artists they are bringing on board.

“Phase 1 of this year’s Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Festival was announced to ignite excitement for the full line up,” said Wanyanya.

“We have the legendary Judith Sephuma who is super excited to be coming back to Zimbabwe as she has just finished her Europe tour.”

He added that  Ami Faku will be performing in Harare for the first time, a development that has been met with excitement.

“We have Alexio Kawara ready to make people dance giving us all his hits, Sylent Nqo is also there having opened for UB40 in May and we wanted more from him. Norman Masamba will return home to Zim from SA just for the festival.

“Intotal band will present their “legends” production after a sold out show of the at 7 Arts and the genius Chiweddar is our resident DJ for this year.”

Music fans should be on the lookout for more announcements with 22 acts set to be added in the runup to the event.

The Jacaranda Music Festival has over the years grown to become one of the biggest events in the country .

Last year’s edition was exceptional, with the organisers going all in to ensure everything went according to plan. From the venue’s setup to the overall experience, the festival was just top notch.

“We always have the drive to do better than we did before and this year is no different. We are happy to be regarded as the biggest festival by those that have turned into fans of our work and we promise them nothing else but quality entertainment through music.

“We strive  for excellence and consistency and that is the foundation of all our productions.”

Wanyanya added that while there are many challenges they have faced, numerous partners have come on board to lend a helping hand.

“It has been tough for everyone to stay afloat but we are happy that we have gotten huge support from organisations like the National Arts Council, the Ministy of Arts and our partners Stanbic Bank.”

Tickets for the 2023 Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Festival will go on sale on the 6th of September.
